Dear All,
Museums Luton was successful in receiving funding through the Learning
Revolutions grant scheme from the Department for Business, Innovation and
Skills which aims to support informal adult learning. Our project aims to work in
partnership with the IT Department of a local College, to create an informal
learning course where young adults will create a virtual Museums Luton in the
virtual world of Second Life. As part of the funding we are also aiming to map
and research the potential for Museums Luton to expand its adult learning
programmes. The overall aim is to increase our capacity to deliver adult
learning in both the real and virtual worlds.
To support the delivery of the project by 31st March 2010, we are seeking to
employ two freelance consultant roles. The first role is an Adult Learning
Consultant who will lead on the delivery and evaluation of the informal adult
learning course. The second is an Adult Learning Researcher who will research
the potential future expansion of our adult learning programmes. Freelance
consultants are invited to apply for one or both roles, dependant on their skills
and ability to deliver the contracts.
Attached are briefs for both roles which explain the project in more detail, the
skills and abilities that we are looking for in the consultant and researcher, and
the process of application. The deadline for submission is 5.00 p.m. on Friday
30th October 2009. Applications should be sent to
