Museum Education Officer

£26,400 - £28,032 per annum
Enfield Museum Service is looking for an enthusiastic and committed
individual to work as part of a small team. You will be building on the
success of our previous education officer and working towards producing a
programme in association with new museum displays.Your main
responsibilities will be developing our object loan service, teaching
materials and utilising the handling materials held in our social history
collections at Forty Hall Museum together with the archive and local study
material at Thomas Hardy House in Enfield Town. By promoting and building
key links between schools, colleges and the Museum Service, you’ll ensure
that both adult and student audiences have access to our services and
resources whilst engaging families through activities and events.
To take on this varied role, you’ll need a degree in a relevant subject and
teaching experience. Alongside a firm grounding in the National Curriculum
and Life Long Learning within the context of Social History, you should be
skilled in planning and promoting unique projects. You should be passionate
about the value of history in a local setting and can understand the needs
of customers from all ages and backgrounds.
