Dear Colleagues,
To add to the useful suggestion from Nick Poole, might I suggest that you look
at the MLA School Participation database. Again this is free to use.
The aim of the School Participation Database is to give a national overview of
school participation in archive and museum learning activities. It also provides a
planning tool for individual venues.
After entering their data, museums and archives can use the database to :
*create reports that demonstrate outputs related to their education work
*understand how schools currently work with venues
*identify and target local schools that currently do not take part in activities
*access up to date socio-economic information about local schools
*provide information to support planning
It provides all of the contact information that you need and is updated directly
(as I understand) from a whole suite of government databases. Museums can
use the system to manage and log their bookings and they can use it to get
the information they need about schools in their catchment area.
You can sign in/up at http://www.mlaschools.org.uk/
