Hello
This is my first post to this very interesting list. I work in community
and online media rather than museums or education, but I hope you'll find
this useful.
Refugee Week, 15th-21st June
-------------------------------
What is your organisation doing for Refugee Week?
Why not tell Refugee Week Radio about your plans.....
Refugee Week Radio is an online community media project which aims to
publicise and promote Refugee Week events and to discuss some of the issues
involved. It's endorsed by, but separate from, Refugee Week itself.
There are two parts to the project:
~ the website where programmes will be streamed and where a link can be made
to your website or event page (http://www.refugeeweekradio.net )
~ the RWRadio network which anyone can join and where audio is available for
sharing 'on demand'. (http://rwradio.ning.com )
Join in:
~ are you running Refugee Week events which we could publicise?
~ are you using audio and if so do you have items or clips which could be
played by us or included in the audio on demand?
~ don't stop at Refugee Week itself - why not tell us about your ongoing
projects or campaigns which touch on relevant topics including
cross-cultural stories/histories, 'different pasts shared future', refuge
and asylum, peace and reconciliation, climate change/resource use and the
effect on populations, migration etc. See the websites for more examples.
Plus: If you already have a relationship with your local radio station or
college media training department, do let us know.
Many thanks. Looking forward to hearing from you.
