Hi all
I know that a lot of museums run INSET sessions especially for teachers to
prepare them for a museum group visit/explain about resources
available/give them practical information about arriving, lunch areas etc
What I am interested in is if there are any museums out there who run a
similar sort of INSET session but for community group leaders rather than
teachers to encouarge them to bring their groups to the museum. If you do,
would you be willing to share information with me on the following:
- who do you target (e.g. extended schools, youth groups, older people
groups?)
- how do you market the sessions to group leaders?
- what do you provide during the sessions?
- are they based on a general museum visit or particular exhibitions?
- how long do the sessions last?
- when do you hold them (or does this vary?)
- what has take-up been like by group leaders?
Many thanks for any help you can give.
Regards
Liz
