Just to let you all know that in the South East our Science Links in Museum Education (SLIME) network has developed a generic resource called Museum Detectives which looks at Citizenship - i.e. why we have museums, what they do and the Science behind Conservation. The freelance educator who worked on the resource was Maggie Monteath.
I am afraid that it is only available to museums in the South East at the moment but please do get in touch if you need any more information.
Best wishes

Hi Katrina
There was a good booklet published a few years ago - I thought I had a copy but can't find it - as far as I remember it had a range of conservation-linked educational activities for children to do. Am sending this to the list in case anyone else remembers it better than me. Am sure it would be a good starting point for you.
Best wishes
Alison

Subject: Conservation workshop
I am hoping to develop a workshop with a member of our conservation team for museum club. This is children aged 7-15years. Through various activities the participants will learn about the work of the conservator, covering preventative care of collections as well as bench work. We hope whatever we come up with could be adapted for different audiences.
Has anyone done anything similar, or come across a case study? I'd be grateful for any thoughts.
All the best
Katrina
