76 reported dead now, burned in their homes, in paddocks near their
homes, in cars on roads trying to escape.
It's just ghastly because the stories they're telling ar that there
was nothing they could do. Country people live with the threat of
bushfire, but people are saying that emergency plans meant nothing
because of the ferocity and speed of the fires.
