I'm a new subscriber to the GEM forum and now wish I'd joined ages ago!
As I new-boy I don't want to speak out of turn but this email forum doesn't
work quite the same as others I'm in. Here, replying to messages seems, by
default, to insert the address of that message's sender, instead of the
[log in to unmask] address which then has to be inserted manually. Surely
this will result in most replies being person-to person and 'off-list'?
Is this the intention, or do the setup parameters need to be fixed?
Also, immediately after posting my previous message, I received six 'out of
office' automated replies. I guess this is why the moderators have set it up
this way, so these came to me and not to everyone else! But all this hassle
is going to discourage me from contributing anything else to the forum, and
must also be inhibiting others.
Instead, as in other forums, could the moderators maybe just sort this out
with the six subscribers who are unwittingly causing the problem, or
unsubscribe them? Two of these automated messages informed me that the
sender is no longer working there!
(Stand by, here come another six automated replies...)
