Hi Jenny
Since steel working - though perhaps not steelworks in general - is an
engineering trade, I'd suggest exploring the networks of the Institute of
Mechanical Engineers, the ImechE. They've got a Young Engineers outreach
section and there's info here about that: http://www.imeche.org/ye/
All the best

Subject: Steel Chat?
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Gemmers,
I am the community engagement manager for the British Steel Archive Project
based in Teesside. I was chatting recently with Helen Reardon who is
Projects Officer - Community Engagement at The Works, the former steelworks
in Ebbw Vale, South Wales, UK.
We were wondering if anyone else out there is involved in outreach or
education work for current or former metal works in the UK, and if so would
they like to form a group or email list to share experience, ideas,
resources and the occasional bit of sympathy if required?
If anyone is out there feel free to contact me on [log in to unmask]
Look forward to hearing from you
Jenny Search
