In answer to Rose's question, GEM is running some skills sharing networking
training sessions "What do teachers want from a visit to a museum" on 20 &
25 February in Wales.
They are part of our Building a Learning Legacy Cymru project.

Hello Gemmers;
Having glanced through the responses to Laura's question about school
booking procedures I have registered the constant theme of how museums
cannot rely on schools to give them the information they need to make said
bookings. I feel moved, finally to suggest that there really ought to be
some sessions organised on the subject of 'What Museums want from Teachers'
in an effort to at least try and ensure that our time isn't wasted quite so
much.

Many thanks to all the people who replied to my query about school booking
procedures - there are a lot of different ways out there! The main
similarity between them all was that teachers generally aren't that good at
responding to or completing forms. I have attached all the replies that I
have received so far. If there is a particular reply that doesn't have a
contact with it let me know and I'll let you know which e-mail address it
came from. We are going to trial a slightly different procedure to the one
we have at the moment - I will let you know how it goes!
Many thanks again for your replies
Regards
Laura
