Dear Claire and GEM'ers
I have attached a copy of our schools leaflet for the current term. At
Wakefield we are lucky in that we have 128 primary schools and about 12
secondary schools in the district. We generally book all our workshops
up within three months of marketing them! So this term is already fully
booked !
The brochure is sent out to all the schools in the district via the
internal courier.
I also give them to our Schools Library Service to put in their loans
boxes.
In the last year I have also started to collate an email marketing list
so that the brochure can be mailed direct to teachers every term.
I market three times a year and I send the brochure out just after half
term for the following term.
Our challenge now is to increase the range of schools that visit us and
I am undertaking some non user consultation in February. I will publish
my findings on the GEM mailing list!

Subject: Marketing to schools
Dear GEM'ers,
I have recently joined the Education and Outreach team at Kirklees
Museums and Galleries, so hello to everyone.
I am looking at our marketing to schools, with a view to updating it.
Would you be willing to share examples of your current
brochures/leaflets with us? We would also be interested to know how you
distribute them - by what means, and how frequently?
Do you use any other means of marketing to schools (e.g. school visits
brochures, online)? Which method do you find the most effective?
Thanks,
Claire
