Lena,
I'd try the Julius Kuhn Museum in Halle, Germany. They've got a huge
collection of the major domestic species, most of which dates from a zoo on
the same site and so has impressive amounts of biographical information.
I had a look at some of their cattle a few years back and found that many
had exact dates of birth and death marked, plus notes on their parentage.
The staff were very helpful too.
Good luck.
David

Subject: [ZOOARCH] Sheep skeleton collections in Europe?
I'm trying to find museums/heritage units with large collections of sheep
skeletons, where the age at death and sex is known (known breed is
preferable, but not necessary). I've seen the Lejre sheep at the Zoological
Museum in Copenhagen already.
Since I have to pay the travel costs myself, only European collections are
of interest.
Thanks in advance,
Lena
