Dear Jurgen,
In English we suffer the benefit of too many words - many of which have
lost connection with gesture.
For example - we "apprehend" which means to take hold of and to be taken
hold of (the double nature of intention in its strong non-moral sense).
But - for most speakers of English, this word is an abstract,
theoretical version of such everyday words as "grasp" "grab" and "grip"
none of which has the reciprocal sense that what we take hold of also
takes hold of us. What I touch must also touch me.
This is an aesthetic topic and very definitley NOT an esoteric topic.
cheers
keith
