Hi Stanislav,
Thanks for the information; it brings up some interesting issues. Pre-emptive legislation is a tricky area to negotiate, in just the same way as pre-emptive design is. It may be necessary to actively engage the expertise of broader disciplines in order to fully validate visions of future realities; however, it is important not to nullify these visions or their positive possibilities – i.e. throwing out the baby with the bath water. If the freedom to move or experiment is stifled by unpermissive, suspicious critical gazes (in the same vein, I would imagine, as Foucault's model of the Panopticon) each position reaches a stalemate, and innovation can be obstructed. Instead, if the McDonough and Braungart model is considered as a modular, open source document, and initiates further discussion, (in much the same way as Jameson considers the use of Utopian discourse) it can initiate constructive critique and action.
Cheers,
Mark
