Hello listers
A number of you have now joined up and accessed the Excel list of Phd
programs (n=111) at https://doctoraldesign.wikispaces.com/
Some of you also (n=44) have responded to my survey on doctoral
curriculum research and course work articulation at
http://opinio.online.swin.edu.au/s?s=2652 (password - design)
receently cited on the DRS newsletter (not too late still to fill it
in!)
As I have been collecting a corpus of thesis and dissertation exemplars
in design in Australia (n=38) and use some of these with students for
modelling, I have added another page to the site
https://doctoraldesign.wikispaces.com/dissertation+exemplars where I
am inviting individuals to make their completed PHds available for
teaching purposes (see blurb below) in one location. This is not meant
to compete with current digital initiatives (ADT in Australia EDT in US)
Introduction and invitation==
Digital thesis initiatives and archives in a number of countries have
made it possible now to easily access thesis and dissertation exemplars
for research student analysis and modelling. Some have also been already
posted in public web space - another welcome resource. Other thesis
genres including the research proposal, colloquium documents, etc., also
repay analysis by students and should also become part of the tool set
of research training in postgraduate design. On this page I am inviting
design researchers (no language restriction at this point given the
international audience) with completed dissertations to make them
available through links or potentially pdf uploads (if you consent) to
make this another resource for PhD design students.
==Thesis and dissertation archive==
I'm happy to coordinate the collection f these either with urls or
(with your permission) an upload of the PDF to the site. (Dr) Gavin
Melles.
