Hi List Members (y un saludo especial para Alejandra)
The ways in which Rorty's sense of shanging vocabularies and judging
the consequences can be seen in his style of writing and in the later
Wittgenstein. Using their own writing as examples they both changed the
form of conversation and, in Rorty's case, suggested that looking at
other vocabularies for doing social reality or science or politics, like
that of Nabokov, Orwell (not so much), Derrida, etc., might just get us
somewhere (thus consequences) more useful for our purposes than
continuing with the same way of talking. Now, of course there are all
sorts of way so f applying such thinking to a range of fields - health,
education, design (maybe) and there is a certain surface appeal in the
notion of design and a new vocabulary I suppose. Anyway.
