I have no knowledge of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu etc but 'Kuchi Kuchi' looks like
it it sounds like the English term used when affectionately addressing a
(usually) baby or child (rather than a respected woman) 'coochy coochy' - a
term that looks like it's either descended from the English term 'cute' or
'cutie', or perhaps its sense is just reinforced by its similarity to cute
and it came into English from India. I wonder whether this is what Martha
was intitially trying to confirm?
Etymology is getting away from film - but I was curious.
