I was writing on behalf of all who store their email on their local
computer, not those who accept having their mail (which indeed may
contain very confidential information) stored on a remote server
which they access with a webmail client.
I've just had a private message from Arin Basu which suggests that
people who use gmail can prevent the "HTML doubling" by turning off
the "Rich Formatting" link.
Best wishes,
Ted.
