Hi Folks,
May I plead to discourage mailing to the list with
the body of the message also attached as HTML?
It's totally redundant, since it merely repeats the
information in the plain-text body. The fact that it
may enable some people to see a prettier version is
of no interest to me!
I've just been through my regular chore of deleting
HTML attachments from many received emails (including
several from this list). I do this to save disk space:
typically, after deletion, the result is 1/2-1/3 of the
size of the original, sometimes smaller.
E.g. a 21K mail on Aug 13 went down to 9K, a 39K mail
on 4 Aug went down to 14K.
It only takes 50 20K mails to use up a MegaByte, and
getting rid of the HTML saves at least 500KB!
With thanks,
Ted.
