Hi Martha,
I think best to put a label in the draw next to the specimens. Everyone will have different ways of doing it, so there is no right or wrong way. If you do put labels in the draw next to specimens/objects, you could do a little extra 'handout' with additional info; when flints were used, why they were used, arrows used in different cultures, different types of hand axes, ect....
Labels in the drawers depend on how many objects you will put in too, as if there are a lot of objects, too many labels may overcrowd the drawer...
Have fun!

Subject: Labels/text for drawer displays
Hi,
We have a set of display drawers in our archaeology galleries which we
are planning to fill with extra items of archaeology (and possibly
geology) e.g. a larger selection of flints, or axeheads, or Roman
jewellery.
I'm not sure how much accompanying text to put in the display - should
each object have a label or would a generic introduction to the category
of object be better? Should the text be included in the drawer or be a
'handlist' next to the drawer?
Your thoughts gratefully received!
Best wishes,
Martha Jasko
