medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I just consulted my Weber edition of the Vulgate, which told me that Ps 151 is
only included in MSS R (Psalterium reginense, s. viii), K (Psalterium Augiense,
s. ix), the Amiatinus, and the Theodulfian MSS, the latter with a note that
this Psalm "in hebraeis codicibus non habetur, sed ne a septuaginta quidem
interpretibus editus est et idcirco repudiandus".

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Thanks, Helen, for this concise clarification. But it raises other questions to
which someone might have ready responses:
(1) In the Clementine Vulgate on my shelf (Descle\e 1956), in the "Gallican"
Psalter based on the Old Greek, the text seems to follow the Old Greek
numbering
(as below), but does not include Ps 151.
(2) In the Iuxta Hebraeos Psalter (appendix), the text still follows the Old
Greek numbering, also without Ps 151.
Does anyone know if Jerome himself used (or commented on) Hebrew or Greek
numbering (e.g. in his commentaries), or if he shows knowledge of Ps 151
anywhere? (This is relevant for the question of how old the Hebrew divisions
may
be, among other questions.)
Thanks. (I'm being a bit lazy, I guess.)
