Small is Beautiful Readers* Day and Small Press Fair, Huddersfield

11am to 4pm
Readers, writers and publishers are coming together to celebrate the
work of small and independent publishers at a readers* day and small
press fair to be held at Huddersfield Library and Town Hall.
The readers* day (at Huddersfield Library) offers a wide choice of
activities; reading groups, discussion panels, creative writing and
performance poetry. The programme includes M Y Alam, Chaz Brenchley,
Maureen Carter, Brendan Cleary, Manzu Islam, Pete Kalu, Tariq Mehmood,
Clare Morrall, Tom Palmer, and Jackie Wills.
Readers* day tickets are *5 per person (includes lunch and a free
reading group book).
The fair at Huddersfield Town Hall (just across the road from the
library) will give readers a chance to meet small press publishers and
editors and browse and buy their books. Publishers attending include:
Arc, Barefoot Books, Comma, Crème de la Crime, Five Leaves, Independent
Northern Publishers, Peepal Tree, Route, Shoestring, Smith/Doorstop,
Tindal Street, and Wrecking Ball Press.
Entrance to the fair is free; contact us in advance and we*ll send
you a ticket that can be entered in a free prize draw on the day.
