medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I speculate the 'somehow' is due to the fact that, since the 1969 calendar
reform, Benedict has moved - at least in the General Roman Calendar - from
21 March (dies natalis) to 11 July. If memory serves, the July date was
formerly a translatio celebrated only in Benedictine particular calendars. I
think Phyllis told us that she is now working from the listings in the newly
updated Butlers, which would appear to be following the current General
Roman Calendar.
