Post-doctoral position available at CNRS - Lyon
==================================
The Laboratory for Transport Economics (LET) is offering a post-doctoral
position for 24 months in the field of transport and land-use modelling. The
post holder is expected to contribute actively to the SMA-LOCMOB project
which focuses on multi-agent based simulation of travel and location choices
in urban areas. The objectives of the project are twofold: the investigation
of the emergent properties exhibited by cities, seen as complex dynamic
systems, and the development of operational models to be used in urban
planning applications. Candidates in the fields of travel demand models,
activity models or land-use models are highly encouraged. Applicants should
have a proven interest in quantitative and interdisciplinary research.
Therefore, we invite also applications from candidates with a background in
the following fields: statistical physics (e.g. complex systems),
mathematics (e.g. system dynamics), computer sciences (e.g. multi-agent
simulations), engineering (e.g. transportation), economics (e.g.
urban/regional, econometrics), social sciences (e.g. travel behaviour,
geography). Applicants are expected to hold, or to obtain shortly, a Ph.D.
thesis or equivalent degree. Experience of programming in an object-oriented
language is essential. Fluency in the English language is required. We offer
good working conditions in a lively lab with collaborations with leading
teams across the world. LET is part of CNRS (National Center for Scientific
Research). The gross monthly salary for CNRS post-docs is 2,150 €.
Applicants should send their curriculum vitae with a list of publications,
at least three references and a concise statement of research by electronic
form (PDF preferred) to Dr. Fabrice Marchal
([log in to unmask]).
