Dear colleagues
Could you please pass the advertisement below for a programmer/analyst
on to any recent graduates/post-graduates or others who might be
interested? This is a further vacancy in addition to the one that we
successfully filled a few months ago - thanks to all who forwarded the
details then.
Apologies for any duplication, best wishes for the New Year!
Regards and thanks
David Simmonds

DAVID SIMMONDS CONSULTANCY
VACANCY FOR PROGRAMMER/ANALYST - CAMBRIDGE
David Simmonds Consultancy (DSC) is a small specialist planning,
transport and economics practice established in 1990 and located in
central Cambridge. We specialize in analysis and forecasting of urban
and regional land-use/economic change, particularly the impacts of
transport strategies on those changes, and are involved in a wide range
of projects throughout the UK and overseas. We have developed a major
software package, DELTA, for land-use/economic modelling, and are
continuing both to enhance DELTA and to develop new products and methods.
To support this process we wish to recruit a programmer/analyst to work
mainly on Java programming for microsimulation modelling of household
behaviour (particularly demographic change, household location and
individual work/workplace choices). The ideal candidate would probably
be a graduate in a relevant discipline who has practiced Java
programming for comparable modelling purposes within a major research or
application project. However we are happy to consider any appropriate
combination of academic (or other) qualifications and practical
experience. The post may be permanent or for a fixed period.
