Research Officer / Fellow - Citymobil Project
This post is available from May 2006 for a fixed term of two years, with
the possibility of further funding, to work on “CityMobil” a new European
Integrated Project led by the Dutch consultancy TNO whose objective is to
understand the contribution of new technologies to the enhancement of
urban transport systems and their performance. As member of the ITS
Transport Policy and Appraisal Research Group, you will work alongside
other researchers on the CityMobil project, led by Professor Tony May and
Dr Simon Shepherd, as well as contributing to other projects as required.
With a good first degree in a subject with a substantive numerical
content, and ideally a postgraduate qualification in a transport
discipline or relevant experience, you should be enthusiastic about
developing your research skills in an applied context. Proficient in IT,
you should have an aptitude and interest in quantitative methods as well
as being able to interpret and use analytical output. Good report writing
and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Knowledge of the principles, and ideally some experience of using
transport models is desirable, together with previous experience of
developing and applying evaluation methods.
Research 1A (£20,044p.a. - £30,002p.a.) depending on qualifications and
experience.
