TRi Seminar Series
Alain Chiaradia, Space Syntax
"Walking, cycling, driving: network design and impact of route choice
preference"
3 March 2006, 1pm to 2pm
Room 1/38 Craiglockhart Campus, Napier University
We propose a journey through a short review of way finding behaviour,
cognitive mapping, the notions of desire line and recent Space Syntax
mass journey simulation. The new simulation technique uses an angular
minimization utility function that has been successfully empirically
tested. It will lead us to wonder on the importance of geometries in the
design of transport networks.
