The UKHERD Conference “Supporting Research Career Pathways” is now open for
registration at:
www.researcherconferences.org.uk
The conference will complement the UKGRAD conference on the following day.
There is a unified web site and booking system, plus discounts for anyone
who wishes to attend both, but the UKHERD conference is primarily aimed at
an audience whose interests cover research staff. We expect it to be of
particular benefit to staff and career development professionals, employers
and managers of research staff, policy makers and officers of funding
bodies.
Participants will be able to:
• Explore the structural and systemic influences on research careers,
in order to improve their understanding of the context in which they work,
and to form coherent views to put to policy makers.
• Share practice in supporting researcher development
The conference will have a combination of targeted presentations and
practical workshops combined with ample opportunities for networking. It
will also offer a chance to meet UKHERD’s Task Force and make a
contribution to its future planning.
UKHERD is a network organisation set up by and for professionals with an
interest in researcher development. If you would like to contribute to the
conference, we would still love to hear from anybody who would like to lead
a session on either:
1) A practical way to support researcher development, for example a
training programme that has worked for you, or;
2) Working within the wider context, for example possible approaches
to influencing policy within institutions.
