Iraq deaths summary request? Does anybody else edit on Wikpedia?
Dear All
Russell asked me if I cd summarise to the list.
On both meanings of the verb 'cd'. I initially declined - being of a
naturally lazy (and declining) disposition
However, I did suggest an alternative model which cd possibly also find
application elsewhere - this was that we shd put such summaries on Wikipedia
or similar organ.
Does anybody have views on this?
Does anybody else edit on Wikpedia? (Anyone can do it - see links below)
Regarding Iraq, the following links seem relevant:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_Body_Count
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancet_surveys_of_mortality_before_and_after_th
e_2003_invasion_of_Iraq
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lancet_surveys_of_mortality_before
_and_after_the_2003_invasion_of_Iraq&action=edit§ion=9
I have just inserted the last link specifically for Radstats members who may
wish to edit.
This page is extremely active at present – about 10 edit per day – see
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lancet_surveys_of_mortality_before
_and_after_the_2003_invasion_of_Iraq&action=history
so what I have written may well have been changed before you get there!
I'd appreciate any comments on whether this is a suitable way of proceeding.
(I personally am becoming a bit of a 'Wiki freak' – it seems to combine
modern technology and good etiquette. It is not error-free ….. but then nor
is the Radstats discussion list I suppose!)

(It only takes 2 minutes to register with Wikipedia – I would suggest that
you do it: it then allows you to keep track of the changes that you have
made, and to identify others who make changes)
(Not sure if these links wuill work on an email – if they don't, please

(which is another page I have created for a different group)
I hope thatall will feel free to modify the Wikipedia page mentioned above,
i.e.:
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lancet_surveys_of_mortality_before
_and_after_the_2003_invasion_of_Iraq&action=edit§ion=9
I'll be interested to see how it goes!
