Hi All
I am carrying out(as are many others) research into the delivery of and
charging for school sessions in the musuem
There have been a number of emails going around about how much museums
charge schools for sessions which has been very useful - thank you.
We are a small local authority museum with two sites and at present do not
charge for our standard school sessions. The two education officers
currently deliver the schools programme but are increasingly taking on
additional strategic/developmental work. We are looking to different ways
of delivering our schools programme.
I am interested in the following questions if any of you are able to answer
them I would greatly appreciate your comments.
1. Who delivers your school sessions?
2. Are they paid a set rate per hour/session/day?
3. Are the staff employed on a permanent contract/casual contract/ as a
freelancer?
4. How are they paid? i.e. through your organisations payrol system, they
invoice you, school pays them?
5. Do they do other educational work? i.e.training sessions, develop new
sessions, inset training.
6. Are they paid at different rates for the above?
7. How often do you stipulate they work? i.e. is there a minimum number of
hours you sepcify in their contract?
Thank you for sharing this information with me, if anyone else is
interested I will surely pass on the information.
Thank you so much in advance of receiving your answers
regards
