medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
According to J. G. Bellay, The law of treason in England in the later Middle Ages (Cambridge, 2004) there were Roman law borrowings in the statutes of treason. And Eleanor Cobham was accused of both treason & heresy. Unfortunately, our copy of his book on the Tudor period was not on the shelf/.

I can't claim any detailed knowledge on this subject, but I would be
surprised if this carried much weight in England or Scotland, which have
both generally had their own legal systems distinct from those in mainland
Europe. England's legal system in particular is based on moderation and
reason, and is not derived from Roman Law in the way many legal systems in
mainland Europe are. My impression is that treason was generally treated
more seriously than heresy here.
