Lectureship in 3D Earth Visualisation, Modelling or Neotectonics
4 years, Fixed Term
£24,352 - £27929 per annum
The Department wishes to recruit an early career scientist with a
demonstrable research track record in the field of 3D Earth
Visualisation, Modelling, or Neotectonics on a 4 year, fixed term
contract to cover an industrial sponsorship secondment. Suitable
candidates will be early career scientists with a PhD in a relevant area
of research and, preferably, a significant record of international
publication in top peer-reviewed journals. Some teaching experience at
undergraduate level and in the field is desirable. Some post-doctoral
research experience and success in obtaining research funding would also
be an advantage.

Post Doctoral Research Assistant/Assistant to the Director of Centre
for Research in Earth Energy Systems (CeREES) 3 years fixed term
£20,044-£24352 per annum
The role involves: (a) assisting the Director of CeREES , Professor
Richard Davies, in establishing and coordinating research programs in
collaboration in the short term with the oil and gas industry, but in
the long term, the remainder of the energy sector; (b) carrying out
research into any mutually agreed theme. These would likely, but not
necessarily, be in the fields of sedimentary basin analysis, 3D seismic
data analysis, structural geology, stratigraphy, diagenesis, basin
modeling and petroleum geology. Candidates should be early career
scientists with a PhD in a relevant area of research, have a promising
publication record in top peer reviewed Earth Science journals. They
should show potential towards an international research reputation. In
addition excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational
skills are essential. Experience and knowledge of the oil and gas
industry would be a major advantage.
