medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I'm afraid I have nothing specific to your inquiry, but I will point out
that there is an exquisitely moving depiction of the subject at the little
former abbatiale of Sts Peter and Benedict at Perrecy-les-Forges in Burgundy
(I think). The webmaster at art-roman has promised to "do" the church soon
but I haven't checked the website lately. Perhaps the scene is depicted on
some other site. As far as I know, it's not oft depicted so there must have
been some point when artists were inspired/ordered to do so.
