medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I don't want to make a big thing of it. The question was debated in the
fourth century. The big gun in favor of perpetual virginity was Jerome. I
guess a debate ends with a decision--though honestly I don't know who did
the deciding. The diplomacy lay in the word "theologians."
