medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Anselm certainly thinks so (Cur Deus homo). There is an amusing article by D.P. Henry on how the calculations were made:
Numerically definite reasoning in the Cur deus Homo,
sometime in the 70s in the Dominican Studies.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear listmembers,
I would be grateful if anyone could provide me with early references to the
widespread medieval belief that after the angels rebelled in Heaven and
were thrown down to Hell, God replaced each one of the rebel angels with a
human being. Does anyone know from where exactly this notion came?
Best wishes and thanks in anticipation,
