medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

thanks, Nancy.
i'm using a public terminal in a large state uiversity library (Indiana).
as far as i know "paticular words" are not part of the firewall --there is no
censorship at all, as best i can see and i can access all the usual
Beastiality, S&M, Blood & Gore sites i like in between postings to the
terminally boring Middlevil-Religion list.
besides, i doubt if John would have posted urls to suchlike sites to this
Family list.
if i happen to think of it i could ask the techie guy i see around here from
time to time --but he is quite a Jerk (an occupational hazard?) and i try to
have as little to do with him as possible.
it's just curious that it should only happen on *some* sites and not others
and that there doesn't appear to be anything at all offensive to even the most
prudish of Borned Again NeoCons on those sites.
i played around with that "switch" in the server program which prevents "off
site access" (what's the proper term?) to .jpgs on my site and, as far as i
can recall, it was just an ON/OFF switch, either allowing such access or not,
with nothing in between which might be subject to different variables in
firewalls on different machines.
