At he newly established Photon Science Institute at the University of
Manchester, PhD studentships are available in the research group of the
Director, Professor Klaus Muller-Dethlefs.
The research areas covered are:
Structure and dynamics of molecular clusters
Laser spectroscopy of biomolecules in the gas phase
Manipulation of highly excited Rydberg states
Molecules embedded in ultra-cold Helium nano-droplets
You should have, or expect to gain prior to October 2005, a 1st or good
upper 2nd class Masters degree in physics or chemistry, or the
equivalent. Your skills and interests should be in the areas of photon
science, laser applications and molecular spectroscopy.
