Mandy,
I assume that these items are already loaded to your Millennium database.
Do you have a list of barcode numbers for these items (or can you create
one)?
If you have a file of barcode numbers you can create a review file of
these items using either the inventory module (if you have it) or in
telnet create lists! (I realise as a new site you are not supposed to
know about telnet but I don't know how to do it in Millennium create
lists.)
In telnet you can create a review file of item records:
Find ITEM records that satisfy the following conditions
BARCODE = 123456
OR BARCODE = 777777
OR BARCODE = 456789
OR
etc.
The keystrokes to achieve the above would be:
b = <barcode> Enter o
b = <barcode> Enter o
b = <barcode> Enter o
etc.
So if you can write a script to run these keystrokes in your telnet
create lists session (and search for these items in your database) you
should be able to create a review file containing the barcode numbers
of the items checked out on your old system. I think there might be a
limit to the number of conditions (lines) you can search in one create
list session (though you can append more records later).
This is not a very fast method either since for each barcode the system
will search the entire database, since in telnet create lists it is not
possible to search on an indexed field (e.g. barcode).
Hope this makes sense!
