Teaching with University Collections
A University Museums Group Seminar
10 June 2005
at The Women's Library, London Metropolitan University
This is a unique chance to hear and discuss how university museums are
expanding the ways in which the collections can be used for teaching.
How can a university museum best be integrated into the academic
structure of the university, what are the barriers for teaching staff to
using collections, how can teaching benefit from new displays? The
seminar draws of several different case studies exploring ways in which
university museums are developing teaching with their collections and
includes speakers from a range of different types of institutions and
museums, large and small. A full programme is attached.
The seminar is free to members of the University Museums Group and to
academics using collections. There will be a small charge for lunch and
tea/coffee, payable on the day.
