Job Opportunities at the Royal Cornwall Museum, Truro
The Royal Institution of Cornwall (RIC) is an independent museum and library
with wide-ranging collections of fine and decorative arts, natural sciences,
social history, archaeology and archives. It is situated in the beautiful
Cathedral city of Truro, in the heart of Cornwall a county which has a
strong local identity and great pride in its cultural heritage and
landscape.
The RIC wishes to appoint a number of key education posts to support its
objectives as part of the Renaissance in the Regions SW Hub. These posts
will help it move from a phase of capacity building towards creating
mutually productive partnerships with non-hub museums in Cornwall.
These posts have guaranteed funding until March 2006 but are likely to
continue at least until March 2008.
Head of Education
c. £26k
To continue, enhance and manage an ambitious programme of education delivery
in partnership with Museum Development Officers, other museums and education
providers in the county; to develop life-long learning programmes and
contribute to the RICıs ambitious redisplay plans.
Early Years Education Officer
c. £23k
To develop Foundation and KS1 use of museums, through the creation of
resources for the RIC and other museums in Cornwall. Teaching experience is
essential and a secondment may be considered.
Education Support Officer
£14k
To provide administrative and marketing support to the Education Service
