Educational Resources Manager - Moving Here
The Moving Here website was launched in July 2003. The catalogue of digital
content and supporting online resources was developed with a grant of £2.6m
from the NOF Digitise programme by a consortium of 30 partner museums,
libraries and archives.
The website www.movinghere.org.uk <http://www.movinghere.org.uk> brings
together:
* 200,000 digitised records of the migration history of
Jewish, Caribbean, Irish and South Asian people who have come to England
over the past 200 years;
* Contributed material on the experience of migration to
England from visitors to the website and various community projects;
* A series of online learning galleries introducing Migration History,
Tracing Your Routes and the Catalogue content.
With funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund, Moving Here will be developing
an online educational resource for schools aimed at Key Stage 2 and 3
History and Geography.
Five Moving Here partners will be selecting material from the entire content
of the Moving Here database to support the use of Moving Here in schools.
Based at The National Archives in Kew, Moving Here is now looking for an
e-learning professional with proven project management and negotiating
skills to manage and deliver this planned education resource. This is a
two-year contract beginning April 2005.
