Dear List
We do a Citizenship workshop as outreach, based on Rules in Society
(with the Rule of Benedict as our starting point). Feed back from
teachers has been positive and we aim it at Year 6 and Year 7 on the
basis that they are undergoing changes in their lives which imposes
different sets of rules upon them.
One of the activities in the session is making up rules (anything goes)
for a fictitious school, which we debate and vote on at the end of the
session. It's quite surprising how often they then throw out their
"silly" rules! This type of activity fulfills all the criteria listed
in the TENs report mentioned by Paul Conneally.
