- Do you have a 'specific learning difficulty' or 'learning difference'
- such as dyslexia?
- Do you work in a museum?
- Would you like to take part in some research where your voice will be
heard?
My name is Amisha Karia (Bexley Heritage Trust) and I am currently doing
research into how individuals with learning difficulties working within
the museum sector feel they are supported by their organisation.
The museum sector is getting much better at thinking about how it
supports visitors with disabilities - but how good is it at addressing
the specific needs of its own workforce?
I would be grateful if you would consider being part of this study as I
believe that this is uncharted territory and our contribution will make
a real difference to a number of professional in the museum sector.
Therefore, over the next three weeks, I am looking to interview
approximately ten museum practitioners with learning difficulties (such
as dyslexia), either via telephone, face to face or whichever way they
feel comfortable.
A number of organisations have already shown an interest and will be
sent a copy of the research (MAGDA, EMMLAC, and Marcus Weisen the Health
and Disability Adviser at MLA).
I would like to assure you that all interviews will be kept strictly
confidential and personal information will not be shared with a third
party. I would appreciate if you would contact me on 07949 568081 or
alternatively you can email me at [log in to unmask] or

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time and I
look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards
