I am currently devising a reminiscence session to take place both within
the museum and as outreach - the topic is household chores/homelife from
the past. I have a variety of artefacts to support this session including:
dolly tubs, dolly legs, mangles, irons, kettles, authentic smells etc. I
would like some advice on how the session should be structured and the
kinds of activities / games I could introduce. I anticipate the session
lasting an hour and being done with a variety of groups from able-bodied
60-somethings to much older nursing home residents - I therefore accept
that one session will not suit all.
I would appreciate any help anyone could provide me on this topic - I
would be particularly interested in observing some sessions if there are
any museums fairly local to me running reminiscence activities.
