Could I be mailed with this info as well please -
like many others, we have received conflicting advice regarding CRB
checks, with the official advice from Personnel being that if staff do
not have sole or regular access to children & vulnerable adults, then
checks are not necessary. However, as many schools are asking about
staff checks, we are now seriously looking at phasing in CRB disclosure
checks on all our staff

Dear All,
I am looking to find Museums that are registered with the Criminal
Records Bureau (CRB) for their security checks in order to find out
whether or not Museums are entitled to ask potential employees and
volunteers exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
i.e. disclosures of spent and unspent convictions. Generally, Public
Engagement staff are not in sole charge of children or vulnerable
adults, but unavoidable circumstances could happen where they might be
e.g. lost children. Any info or experience on levels of disclosure for
staff and volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults in a
Museum environment greatly received!
Thanks
