Fashion on Display Symposium
Organised to coincide with the exhibition Spectres: When Fashion Turns Back
A symposium in association with London College of Fashion, University of
the Arts London
25 February 2005
Lecture Theatre
10.30–17.00
From the first static displays of fashion to inspiring and spectacular
contemporary shows, this symposium takes a critical look at key debates
within the curation of fashion. Through a series of presentations and
conversations, we ask top international fashion historians and curators to
discuss the shifting relationships between fashion theory, the politics of
display, curators, academics and fashion’s burgeoning audience.
This symposium will be of special interest to students and practitioners of
fashion and related disciplines, art and design history, theory and
contextual studies, museum studies and curating.
