Learning Through Play
Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum
Explore aspects of interactive and hands-on learning for young children. Participants will have the opportunity to consider how powerful the different types of play can be as a means of learning and have the chance to observe some learning through play in action.
Jo Graham, an expert in early years, play and museums will lead this workshop focusing on the connection between learning and play.
The day is based at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum using the Kids in the City gallery, a specially designed gallery for under sevens. There will also be chance to explore how traditional galleries can be used to encourage learning through play.
Cost: £5 for the day for GEM members. £10 for non-members. Please make cheques payable to GEM Midlands. Receipts available on the day.
