Hello everyone,
I am in the process of writing the first set of Grass Roots guidelines for
the GEM website. These guidelines are aimed at a grass roots level for
people working in museums with little or no educational experience. The
first set of guidelines is an introduction to working with schools. I am
looking for some examples from all you specialists out there of the
following;
• A really good example of a school evaluation form
• A bad example (if you have come across one!)
• Examples of EEBL projects (teacher placements). This just needs to be a
few lines of information, including name of museum, school, length of
placement, product, and contact details for more information
• Examples of novel ways of linking to the curriculum
• Examples of successful school’s outreach projects
• Examples of projects with local cultural co-ordinators (again just a
small paragraph of info with contact details for further info will
suffice)
Although these guidelines are directly related to museums in Scotland and
therefore the Scottish curriculum, it would still be interesting to hear
about examples from elsewhere in the UK. The examples will be used on the
website and forms will be downloadable for others to edit for use in their
own museum, so if you don’t mind sharing, it saves others from reinventing
the wheel!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries,
Many thanks,
Susan
