While at Leicester we undertook functional health assessments based on
occupational and public health risks e.g. school crossing patrol: DVLA
standards of fitness (BP, pulse and TSU for undiagnosed risk factors for
heart disease, diabetes and neurological disease) to be on the road, ability
to climb a step (pavement) and agility (to restrain a child from running
into the road) (on the basis that they were supervising vulnerable adults
and children) and a blind whisper test.
