I thought you might be interested in the following, received today (with
apologies in case it may be of No Importance to some of you):
Dear friends
I'm absolutely delighted to hear you've been discussing the Season of
Goodwill so early; I've only just got the sleigh out. Anyway, a little
shared smile and a laugh makes us - what do they call it today - a
Community! But remember, friends, you must all BELIEVE for it to happen.
You never know, one little Gem in the stocking could be the answer to your
funding crisis! Happy Christmas!

Dear All,
Thank you Martin Bazley!
While some of the content on GEM includes: interesting points raised,
useful/important questions (and answers), jobs, conferences, study days,
case studies and so on there is equally a lot of banter and not so funny
jokes and ridiculous comments, and baffling questions. Including the toilet
roll debate before Christmas (that went on and on and on) and the now Father
Christmas which started from a perfectly valid question.
I am sorry to sound like a kill joy but when I joined this list - I was
joining a list ' for discussion of issues in museum education in the UK'
and not for everything else that seems to be sent. Sometimes I wonder if I
am the only person with any work to do in the Museum Education sector. I
know that I find it frustrating so I am sure that 100s of other Gem members
do too. All I ask is that you think before you send, I get enough spam, and
pointless emails as it is.
I will apologise now for sending a 'none issue based' email.
I look forward to more interesting and relevant debate and questions in the
future!
Best Wishes
Alexandra
